It’s our way to make a skirt feel a little more relaxed and less prissy. Skirt-over-pants can be seen in certain cultures’ traditional dress—for both men and women. In traditional Indian dressing, men and women wear a kurta or kurti (a long, tunic-like top) over matching trousers, for example. In Vietnam, they have the áo dài, a long gown also worn with trousers.
